Problem: As a user, I don't know what apps still have access to my bank data through Plaid. Plaid requires a one-time sign-on for access to your information, and so apps that you may have created an account for 5 years ago that you don't use anymore still have access to your data. I know Plaid Portal exists but you need a Plaid account or a phone number attached to your initial sign-up information to access it, something I apparently didn’t do.

I definitely have used plaid to sign into my bank account for venmo, acorns, etc.

I definitely have used plaid to sign into my bank account for venmo, acorns, etc.

Solution: For the sake of transparency, I thought it would be nice to be able to have a full view of all the apps you’ve used Plaid to sign into so that you can have control over what apps continue to see your bank data.

This would be a screen that you could have access to when you are done signing up for an application using plaid. An end of flow option.

As users care to check how their bank data is being used most after giving it away.

03/10/2021 Updates

By posting this design on twitter I was able to connect with an employee at Plaid who offered to refer me for a full time role. But more importantly, about a month after I posted this design Plaid came out with a fully revamped and mobile friendly version of Plaid Portal.

Yes, I am claiming responsibility because it sounds cooler and it can’t be proven otherwise.
